Plans & Vibes Archive - using trackers in your planner for health and wellbeing

Using trackers can give amazing insight into your productivity, and particularly your health & wellbeing.

Where electronic trackers like Apple Watches and FitBits can provide great insight into your steps/ heartrate etc. It cannot track your moods, symptoms or water consumed. This is where adding trackers into your planning routine can be helpful!

Also, us planner addicts know how satisfying it is to put pen to paper, don’t we! ;)

The other thing i like about keeping trackers is that you can start identifying connections and impacts. For example if you track your period, moods and energy, these could all be closely related and you can start seeing how these each impact on each other. From there you have more information to help you manage these yourself, or you have some tangible information to show your doctor.

One thing that i wanted to focus on this year was my energy levels. I have a hard time maintaining my energy and find the slumps really hard to deal with considering how busy i like to keep myself. So i have decided to monitor my energy levels each day to help me identify any trends in my energy peaks and dips and come up with strategies to maintain my energy throughout the day.

Other than energy levels, daily trackers could be used for monitoring:

  • Calories burned

  • Steps taken

  • Stress/anxiety

  • Moods

  • Symptom tracking

  • Water you have drunk

And even beyond your health, they could be used for tracking other productivity factors:

  • Tasks completed

  • Emails sent

  • Phone calls made

    etc etc

Monthly/yearly trackers give an overview of your whole year. These are particularly useful in tracking and displaying things like:

  • Your progress towards goals - this could be health related (like weight) or even financial like a savings tracker

  • Your periods (and symptoms)

  • Illnesses and their related flare ups

  • Moods

  • Medication

  • Exercise

and almost anything else you could think of!

I use these trackers in my planner for my period, exercise and K10 self-test results. Again, it is very interesting to see how these all relate!

We have our trackers available in either a vertical or horizontal version depending on how you like to display things in your planner, or how you would like to use your tracker.

Do you use trackers in your planner? What do you track and how do you use them? Share your tips in the comments below!
